The Peugeot Partner Tepee is a robust and versatile vehicle which is a great way to easily transport large groups of people. It is one of the most economical on the market, with large amount of boot space to carry around luggage and other items.

Not all Peugeot Partner Tepee’s have seating for seven; only the S HDI 92 Version has two additional seats in row three and three separate seats in row two. As you would expect side air bags come are standard. This costs an additional £845. The Tepee started life as a van, which evolved into a passenger vehicle in 2008 and never looked back.

Van or People Carrier?

But what exactly is it? In terms of shape, it is difficult to pigeonhole. In general remains very van-like, while the front has changed into something resembling a passenger vehicle and the back could be mistaken for a full-on people carrier.

Standard Features

The standard trim on a Peugeot Partner Tepee is surprisingly generous considering the relatively low price, coming with ABS, driver and passenger air bags, cloth trim, a CD player, heated mirrors, electric front windows and Isofix points. Upgraded models also include options for side air bags, front fog lights, air conditioning, cruise control and alloy wheels.

Towing Capacity

If you need to tow a caravan I’d search for a different model but you can tow a maximum braked trailer weight of 1300kg with this car.

Performance

Despite its great economy and relatively low starting price, the Partner Tepee does leave quite a lot to be desired in performance achieving 60mph in the slow time of 15.2s, and the top speed of 101mpg with 92-break horsepower. Grip is very good and, overall, this is a vehicle that is fun to drive, despite the overriding concentration on functionality.

Boot Space and Dimensions

The cargo space with all seats upright is 100 cubic litres. This increases to 470 cubic litres with the 2nd row folded flat. The smaller cargo space is probably because this car is only 4.35 meters long and 2.112 meters wide.

Conclusion

The Peugeot Partner Tepee falls into the category of a roomy and cheap 7 Seater. It’s exterior similar to that of the Renault Kangoo or Citroen Berlingo in that it is a van with windows. However despite the lacking of exterior style it is an excellent choice when choosing an economical and practical family car.

The Tepee is manufactured by Peugeot Motor Company plc. Of course, within the same segment remain the kings of the low-end 7-seater market, including the Seat Alhambra, the Vauxhall Zafira and the Citroen Xsara. There is therefore plenty of decent competition for the Peugeot Partner Tepee, but it does well by comparison. This is a vehicle for large families that are willing to compromise on sportiness for the sake of fuel efficiency, but still want a fun drive.
